"Big Sunday" in New York

A group of us from PCC are heading to New York next week to help plant a church. I'm so excited about this trip. We're actually helping this new church launch its Grand Opening Celebration on September 28, and we're calling it "Big Sunday." Thanks to Cleve Persinger, http://www.thebigsunday.com/ is now live if you'd like to read more about it.

Also, please pray for us--that God would give us strength and that He would use us to make a difference in people's lives. I look forward to sharing stories and pictures!

Where Were You?

On that September day?

I was in a seminary class in Louisville, KY. Somebody sitting at the front of the class said something about a plane hitting a building in New York. That's all we knew...until class was over. We soon found out how bad it really was. As country singer Alan Jackson wrote, it was a day when "the world stopped turning."

Where were you on that September day? Let me encourage you to take a few moments and remember the families affected by 9/11. Pray for them. I was actually at a local high school this morning, and it was good that the principal stopped all school activities for a moment of silence.

Also, let me encourage you to take a few moments today and ponder just how short life is. Pray like David prayed in Psalm 39:4-5...

“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
,
So enjoy the life God gives you. Trust God. Pursue Him. Love Him. Follow Him. And on this September day, pray that your friends and family will do the same.
